Job Summary

Moog is looking for an Electronic Design Engineer to join Tritech International based in Ulverston, Cumbria. Tritech is a high-technology business dedicated to providing the most reliable sonar imaging and ancillary equipment for use in underwater applications. Through a truly international customer base, Tritech’s cutting edge technology has been adopted as the preferred choice in an expanding variety of sub-sea applications including deep sea infrastructure, marine life tracking systems and diver search & recovery operations. With the backing of its parent company Moog, Tritech is now poised to launch more new products providing underwater solutions for our customers worldwide. The role will be based either at Tritech’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ulverston, on the edge of the beautiful Lake District National Park, or in the Company’s Design Offices in Edinburgh, located on the Heriot-Watt University Campus.

The Electronic Design Engineer will be an integral part of a truly multi-disciplinary Engineering team with skills in Mechanical and Industrial Design, Firmware, Application Software, Product Assessment as well as Electronic Hardware Design. The role provides the opportunity to work with the latest SOC integrated FPGA/Processor devices, supporting the design of state of the art multi beam sonars.

Responsibilities will include new product development from concept through to prototyping and finally production. It will also be required to provide configuration variations of existing products, provision of support to the Supply Chain in procurement and manufacture of existing products as required and also some support to Sales and Applications Engineers.

Qualifications

Key Skills

  • Must possess a qualification in Electronic Engineering either at degree or HNC/HND level (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience of product design and hardware design is required.
  • Strong understanding of Schematic Capture and PCB layout – experience of Altium is an advantage.
  • Experience in analogue, high speed digital and psu design is essential for success in the role.
  • Some experience with embedded C would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Awareness of production processes is beneficial.
