Body Recovery Using Tritech Sonar Thought to be the Deepest on Record
A drowning victim recovered by the Douglas County Sheriff Department from Lake Tahoe has been described as an 'unprecedented' find for the notoriously deep lake. The victim was recovered at a record depth of 1062 feet (323.7m) using the department's Outland 1000 Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV), equipped with a Tritech Gemini 720is sonar.
Sonars are regularly used in Search and Recovery missions across the United States and Canada as the sonar image allows ROV operators and divers to have visibility in low to zero visibility water.
Tritech International is proud to work with the brave Search and Recovery specialists around the globe and to assist in these missions.
