Houston PD Dive Team's New ROV Features Tritech Technology

The Houston Police Department Dive Team have taken delivery an Outland 2000 ROV, which features the new manipulator arm. The ROV is equipped with Tritech's Gemini 720ik, MicronNav USBL Tracking System, Micron Sonar and Micron Echosounder.

This is the culmination of 2 years of training and support provided by Tritech International, which has included: sonar theory, and sonar system deployment and operations.

The Houston PD Dive team regularly have to operate in black water, with visibility of less than 1-2 ft and this presents major challenges in search operations. Commented Ruben Morales, Tritech International's business development manager, “The Gemini 720ik will provide the dive team with an effective and reliable tool to conduct underwater searches quickly and efficiently, greatly increasing diver safety during search and recovery operations.”
