Test Technician (subsea electronics)
Agency involvement is not required. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a practical assessment of skills at our facility in Ulverston.
Salary £30k - £37k depending upon experience.
The role:
Are you ready to apply your electronics skills to high-quality, precision-built subsea products?
We’re looking for a Test Technician to join our production team, supporting the assembly, test, inspection, and repair of electronic assemblies and finished products used in demanding subsea applications. You will work within defined processes and quality standards to ensure every product meets Tritech’s rigorous technical and performance requirements.
- Assembling and testing transducers, electronic sub-assemblies, and finished products in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and defined procedures.
- Performing electrical and functional testing, including complex fault-finding and diagnosis to PCB level.
- Conducting in-process and final inspection to verify product conformity, identifying and reporting any non-conformances.
- Carrying out final assembly, firmware programming, and verification testing prior to product release.
- Maintaining accurate test records, documentation, and traceability in line with the Tritech Management System.
- Supporting prototype and pre-production builds, working closely with Production Engineering and colleagues.
- Contributing to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, quality, and efficiency.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven electronics assembly and soldering skills within a quality-controlled, high-reliability manufacturing environment.
- Level 4 HNC in Electronics Engineering or working towards one.
- Ability to follow technical drawings, build instructions, and test procedures with a high level of accuracy.
- Confident using PCs, test equipment, and production tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, consistency, and process adherence.
- A positive approach to teamwork, communication, and supporting knowledge sharing within the department.
Bonus Points for:
- Professional level certification in continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen.
